About this page
Records that update while history is being made
Most record pages freeze the all-time lists and quietly go stale the moment a tournament kicks off. Ours don't: during the 2026 World Cup, any active player on the all-time scorer list has their live tournament goals added on top of their career baseline, with a pulsing marker showing exactly how many they've added. When an all-time record actually falls mid-tournament, this board shows it the same day.
The baselines are curated against FIFA's official archives — most World Cup goals, most titles, longest streaks — and we treat corrections seriously: if you spot a number that contradicts the official record books, tell us and we'll fix it publicly. The live overlay comes from the same verified match feed that powers our WC2026 award trackers.
For the current season's races rather than all-time history, the Top Scorers and xG Leaders boards cover the club game, and the FIFA WC 2026 hub tracks the tournament's Golden Boot, Playmaker and Golden Glove races live.
